Polish firms establish REACH consortium for coke producers
05-Nov-2008
Six Polish firms have established a REACH registration consortium for coal tar, crude benzole, coke oven gas, sulphur and ammonium sulphate derived from coke production. The consortium calls on other coke producers to join it in lobbying for an exemption from REACH registration for coke oven gas and for coal tar and crude benzole to be defined as transported intermediates. It notes that an EU-wide consortium for the substances from coke production is planned for 2009.
