Company Background Flashpoint S.r.l. was created in February 1999 in Italy as a service provider to help companies for fulfilling rules concerning safety. In the first ten years of activity Flashpoint has created technical services and training regarding dangerous goods transportation (ADR, IMDG Code, ICAO/IATA, 96/35/EC for DGSA), hazardous substances and preparations regulations (67/548/EEC, 1999/45/EC, 91/155/EEC and 76/769/EEC directives and subsequent modifications), REACH regulation and GHS.

Dossier preparation & data management
Our service consists in drawing up the technical Dossier as a Joint Submission member according to the following steps: substance data entry, Dossier Creation, participation in the joint submission, dossier submission to Agency (ECHA).
Pre-registration/Registration

Our Late preregistration service is addressed to Manufacturers and Importers of substances and mixtures and includes the driven creation of Official Legal Entity (LEO) and the communication to the Agency (ECHA), on behalf of our Customer, of late preregistration required information. In particular:

  • EINECS number
  • CAS number
  • IUPAC number
  • Tonnage
  • date of first manufacture or import
  • registration deadline
SIEF facilitation

Our service consists in managing the Substance Information Exchange Forum (SIEFs), for companies that have preregistered one or more substances. Flashpoint, in each SIEF, deals with:

  • Answering to ECHA’s or SIEFs members’ requests
  • Providing current studies to SIEFs members
  • Asking for incomplete information to SIEFs members
  • Searching for appropriate additional studies in order to registration compliance
  • Planning additional studies
  • Valuing and agreeing on substance Classification and Labeling where may be different opinions
  • Supporting our Customer in the sharing cost phase
  • Participating in SIEFs meetings on behalf of our Customer
Third party representative

Our service consists in managing the Substance Information Exchange Forum (SIEFs), for companies that have preregistered one or more substances: Flashpoint is named and acts as the third party representative, delegated from the Customer. Flashpoint, in each SIEF, deals with:

  • Answering to ECHA’s or SIEFs members’ requests
  • Providing current studies to SIEFs members
  • Asking for incomplete information to SIEFs members
  • Searching for appropriate additional studies in order to registration compliance
  • Planning additional studies
  • Valuing and agreeing on substance Classification and Labeling where may be different opinions
  • Supporting our Customer in the sharing cost phase
  • Participating in SIEFs meetings on behalf of our Customer
Training

We are able to organize specific training sessions according to the Customer requirement, concerning both the CE Regulation n.1907/2006 (REACH) and the EC Regulation n.1272/2008 (CLP), focused also on particular topics (ex. Material Safety Data Sheets).

We also provide for training sessions about carriage of Dangerous Goods by Road/Air/Sea, according to ADR/IMDG Code/ICAO-IATA requirements.  All sessions are customized in their contents and length and are aimed to offer an interactive participation thanks to their practical side.

Corporate strategy/advice
We support the Company for managing the chemical substances in the changed market after that REACH & CLP came in force. In particular we advice the Company on the different solution for purchasing products, selling products by distributor or not in the other countries, registration strategy (joint submission vs. opt out) and for assigning a rating to the suppliers.
Supply chain communication
We support the Company in its communications to Customers and Suppliers, predisposing a correct and complete information exchange through the supply chain, ex: encoding of identified uses and notification to suppliers, configuration of standard formats to communicate information.
