US standards group launches personal care products testing programme

NSF International, a US-based independent testing and standards organisation, has launched a cosmetics and personal care products programme, designed to help manufacturers address concerns about quality, safety and product claims. A recent independent study conducted for the organisation found that 48% of consumers are concerned about personal care product quality and safety, and that 44% prefer products that are independently tested and certified.
