Member States to urge more action on environment and health
15-Nov-2007
Member State officials are due to continue talks on Monday over draft conclusions to be adopted by ministers concerning the EU's progress on tackling linked environment and health issues. The conclusions aim to breathe new life into the EU's Environment and Health Action Programme which runs from 2004 to 2010. As it stands, the text urges the European Commission to strengthen the integration of environment and health concerns into other policies. Included amongst the specific actions demanded are more emphasis on research into the risks of nanotechnology and an acceleration of plans for an EU biomonitoring programme.
