No RoHS ban on antimony trioxide, says industry

EU risk assessment shows use in electronic products poses "no risk" to consumers, says trade body

The recast EU Directive on the restriction of hazardous substances (RoHS) in electrical and electronic equipment should not include provisions requring the flame retardant antimony trioxide to be considered for a ban in the next revision, says the International Antimony Association (i2a). This, it says, is because the EU risk assessment, which was finalised last year, demonstrates that the use of antimony trioxide in consumer electronic products...
