EPA responds to EU request to extend comment deadline on carbon nanotube proposal
20-Jan-2010
The US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) announced earlier this month that it has extended to 8 February the comment period for its proposed significance new use rule (SNUR) for specific carbon nanotubes. The deadline for public comment, originally set for 7 December 2009, was moved following a request submitted by the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) on behalf of the European Commission. NIST is a point of contact between the US and EU on World Trade Organization (WTO) Technical Barriers to Trade (TBT) issues. According to the request the European Communities want longer to review the draft regulation.
