Canadian researchers report low dose effects of BPA in the placenta

03-Feb-2010

Researchers in Canada say that exposure to low concentrations of bisphenol A (BPA) damages and kills cultured human placenta cells. The researchers from the Laboratory of Research in Reproductive and Gestational Health and the Department of Obstetrics-Gynecology, University of Sherbrooke Hospital Centre, both in Quebec, add that the doses studied are similar to levels found in the blood of pregnant women.
