US State lists 66 hazardous substances in trial of new child product safety rule

In the US, Washington’s Department of Ecology has announced a project to test implementation of the State’s new Children's Safe Product Act. Working with a number of manufacturers of products for children, the department aims to learn how best to implement the chemical reporting process called for under the law. As part of the initiative the department has published a list of 66 chemicals that trigger reporting under the draft rule.
