EPA proposes new use controls targeted at multi-walled carbon nanotubes
08-Feb-2010
In the USA, the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has issued proposals that would see a Significant New Use Rule applied to multi-walled carbon nanotubes. The planned notification requirements only cover multi-walled substances. The EPA says it believes that certain changes from the use scenario described in the existing Pre-Manufacturing Notice could result in increased exposures, thereby constituting a significant new use. Comments can be submitted until 5 March 2010.
