US EPA seeks data on 29 orphan high production volume chemicals

In the USA, the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has proposed a test rule to collect data on 29 high production volume chemicals. The proposal is based on Section 4 of the Toxic Substances Control Act (TSCA) and would require manufacturers, importers and processors of the substances to conduct testing to obtain screening level data for health and environmental effects and chemical fate. Comments on the proposal can be submitted until 26 May 2010.
