European Commission calls for review of short-chain chlorinated paraffins restriction

The European Commission has published in the Official Journal its decision, made on 20 April, to re-examine the restriction placed on short-chain chlorinated paraffins (SCCPs) listed in Annex XVII of REACH. This restricts SCCP levels in metalworking fluids and leather treatment liquor to 1%. The decision, which specifies that the review should be carried out under Article 69 of REACH, is addressed to EU Member States and the European Chemicals Agency.
