OECD guidance on grouping of chemicals for risk assessment
07-Jan-2008
Guidance document sets out current best practice on grouping structurally similar chemicals for risk assessment in order to maximise effiiciency and minimise the need for animal testing. It builds on US methodology devised for its 'High Production Volume' chemicals hazard screening programme. The practice of 'grouping' is an evolving field, and further revisions to the guidance are likely, the OECD notes.
