JRC proposes route for identifying nanoparticles likely to cause cell damage
20-Jul-2010
The European Commission’s Joint Research Centre (JRC) has highlighted a recently-published study on a theoretical framework to detect oxide nanoparticles that have the potential to damage cells through oxidative stress and lead to adverse health effects.
Further research at the JRC aims to expand the theoretical framework with additional modes of toxic action, by further applying computational approaches in combination with information derived from in vitro experiments.
