Belgium, Netherlands indicate SVHC nomination intentions
26-Jul-2010
The Belgian and Dutch authorities have notified the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA) of their intention to nominate five substances as substances of very high concern (SVHCs) - and therefore for potential addition to the REACH Candidate List. Full dossiers are to be submitted by 2 August.
The substances are:
Belgium:
S-(tricyclo(5.2.1.0'2,6)deca-3-en-8(or 9)-yl O-(isopropyl or isobutyl or 2-ethylhexyl) O-(isopropyl or isobutyl or 2-ethylhexyl) phosphorodithioate (designated persistent, bioaccumulative and toxic)
Netherlands:
- Cobalt diacetate (designated carcinogenic, mutagenic or reproductive toxin (CMR))
- Cobalt (II) dicarbonate (CMR)
- Cobalt dinitrate (CMR)
- Cobalt (II) sulphate (CMR)
Earlier in July, Austria and Germany also notified their next batch of SVHC nominations (CW 13 July 2010). Germany also expects to submit a dossier for trioxochromium (CMR) by 2 August, which it nominated last year.
