NGOs issue leaflet on cocktail effects and EU policy
02-Aug-2010
Three environmental NGOs have produced a leaflet on the harmful effects on hormone systems of chemical mixtures and EU policy. WWF, CHEM Trust and HEAL say that to date EU political action has been “half-hearted” despite the fact that scientists around the world believe that increasing rates of cancer, diabetes and infertility could be reduced by removing certain commonly-used hormone disrupting chemicals. The leaflet aims to show that there are opportunities to better implement chemicals legislation to protect human and wildlife health. It also contains tips on how to reduce individual exposures.
