Ökö Institut consults on ROHS hazardous substance candidates
07-Mar-2008
German consultancy Ökö Institut is consulting on a list of high priority hazardous substances that could become restricted under the EU Directive on the restriction of hazardous substances in electrical and electronic equipment (ROHS). Views are invited on a list of substances to find out more about their composition and uses. From the responses, Ökö Institut will make recommendations on those that should be covered by the ROHS Directive in its final report due in April. The brominated flame retardant TBBPA is included in the consultation list - its producers are lobbying to prevent restrictions of the substance following completion of an EU risk assessment of the chemical.
