EPA mandates certification of lead paint removal contractors
01-Apr-2008
From April 2010, only contractors trained and certified in lead-safe working practices will be able to undertake work on US housing, childcare facilities and schools built before 1978. The new law, announced yesterday in a bid to protect children from lead exposure, will apply to builders, plumbers, electricians and painters. It covers rental accommodation and non-rental homes inhabited by children under six and pregnant women.
