Council set to approve REACH test methods Regulation
28-Apr-2008
The draft REACH test methods Regulation looks set to have an easier ride through the EU Council of Ministers than through the European Parliament, where MEPs are demanding assurances over quicker approval of non-animal test methods. No Member State raised an objection to the draft Regulation at the two meetings of the Council's Permanent Representatives Committee that have taken place since the proposal was officiallly transmitted in February, despite objections based on a technicality by the UK and the Netherlands earlier in the drafting process. The Council is therefore set to confirm that it has no objection to its adoption.
