Title Module 8 – Classification for Transport & Module 10 Transport Labelling & Documentation
Organiser Chemical Hazards Communication Society (CHCS)
Location Manchester Airport
Details

Module 8 will look at the requirements in the dangerous goods regulations for their classification. It will also look at the linked step of ‘identifying’ dangerous goods correctly.

Many consignors immerse themselves in the requirements of the CHIP and CLP regulations and the classification rules enshrined in them. They often struggle to understand that there is a separate classification regime for transport, to understand how transport and CHIP rules may or may not be linked. Now the CLP Regulations have been published, transport and supply are getting closer, but how close?

Module 10   is designed to examine the issues behind the preparation of marks and/or labels for the transportation of dangerous goods and other relevant documents, e.g. Instructions in Writing, Dangerous Goods Notes, and Waste Documents. The module will cover the changes brought about by ADR 2011 and the GB Carriage of Dangerous Goods and Use of Transportable Pressure Equipment Regulations 2009 (SI 1348)(CDG 2009) as well as IMDG 2010 and ICAO/IATA 2011. Also the changes to the hazardous waste consignment note which were applicable by 28 September 2011 latest.
