As the UK's National Measurement Institute NPL develop and maintain the nation’s primary measurement standards. As well as being the home of the metre, the kilogram and the second, its scientists use measurement to solve all sorts of problems in all sorts of places - from cancer treatment, Earth observation, farming, mobile phones, GPS, electronics, and countless others. Wherever measurement is needed, NPL is there.

A variety of science laboratories will be open as well as a programme of short talks and exhibits to showcase world-leading science. Come along and prepare to be amazed!
