Researchers publish model to assess carcinogenity of nitrogen compounds
26-Jan-2012
Chinese scientists have published details of a model to predict the carcinogenity of compounds containing the functional group N-nitroso in rats.
The technique involves linear discriminant analysis (LDA) in conjunction with an enhanced replacement method (ERM). The authors state their model could be used to discriminate between carcinogenic and noncarcinogenic substances, and thereby provide insight into structural features and chemical factors related to carcinogenicity in this group of chemicals.
The study is published in Chemical Research in Toxicology.
