THE JOB:

Working in a multi-disciplinary team of regulatory affairs professionals, (ecotoxicologists, toxicologists, chemists, environmental fate experts and agronomists), you will be responsible for the preparation and review of the Human Health aspects of dossiers to ensure their compliance with all relevant regulations/legislation and company standards.

This role will require the successful candidate to:

  • Provide expert mammalian toxicological advice to clients and colleagues.

  • Prepare mammalian toxicology report summaries and expert position papers in support of dossiers.

  • Advise colleagues on requirements for classification and labelling.

  • Commission and monitor toxicological studies at external laboratories.

  • Conduct non dietary, human health risk assessments.

  • Keep project managers up to date about toxicology aspects of new regulations and procedures and how they impact on APC, to ensure regulatory compliance at all times.

  • Provide toxicology leadership within APC.

  • Network and build contacts at official bodies (regulators etc)

Assist with training of employees and company customers (where necessary

THE CANDIDATE:

We are interested to hear from candidates with a relevant degree, and experience in regulatory mammalian toxicology and product safety. Previous experience working with the regulatory fields of pesticides, biocides and other chemical products in Europe is essential, with experience of human health exposure modelling and/or dietary consumer risk assessment being highly desirable (although appropriate training can be given).

UK Registered Toxicologist status is also desirable, but not essential.

This would be an excellent 2nd or 3rd career step for an aspiring regulatory toxicologist / product specialist who is looking to increase their experience and responsibility in regulatory toxicology/human health risk assessment. Good communication skills with attention to detail and a strong team spirit are essential.
