The regulatory and product safety department is responsible for the compliance of all the company’s product ranges – this covers pest control, hygiene and fragrances products. You will be involved in all elements of the regulatory process including regulatory monitoring, provision of advice and support to the business, risk assessments, product registrations, SDS production, classifications, labelling and transport regulations. The products fall under a range of regulations including REACH, CLP, BPD, IFRA and many more. This highly important central team works with departments across the business; product development, chemistry, efficacy, sales/marketing, production, logistics and management. The role is diverse, fast paced and highly rewarding.

Suitable candidates must have previous regulatory affairs or product safety experience within a chemicals related environment; this could be a company, an association or a consultancy. You must have experience of producing SDSs (safety data sheets) and be able to classify chemical products from first principles. Experience or knowledge of REACH or the BPD (biocidal product directive) would be highly attractive. You must be well organised, have strong attention to detail, confident communication skills including the ability to liaise with and advise senior management.
