This is a new and exciting opportunity Product Stewardship professional to develop, implement and maintain this new department to strengthen the core competencies and regulatory frameworks for product stewardship and support Johnson Matthey to deliver safe products according to legal requirements and our company values. You will be accountable for providing expert consultancy for our JM Clean Air Sector and provide regulatory and product safety assessments for JM products, raw materials and process chemicals, thus supporting the development of new technologies and assuring legislative compliance in a variety of territories.
Provide product regulatory consultancy to the Sector, advising on global chemicals notification requirements, restricted substance management and related strategies to achieve compliance.
Continually monitoring the regulatory landscape to predict and mitigate regulatory risks.
Support of business unit teams involved in chemicals notifications within global control regulatory bodies.
Develop awareness of global chemical control regimes and product safety regulations.
Support of chemical hazard classification and communication projects across the CA Sector
Support of Occupational hygiene, control of exposure to hazardous substances
Working collaboratively in multidisciplinary project teams, within JM and supporting interactions with trade associations, regulatory agencies and industry consortia.
Are you the ideal candidate?
Degree or post-graduate qualification in a relevant discipline along with knowledge and experience of global chemicals control regimes (e.g. REACH, TSCA/LCSA, Asia-Pacific equivalents).
Experience gained in a chemical product regulatory compliance and product safety role, gained within the chemical, metal and pharmaceutical industries.
Knowledge and proficiency in chemical hazard communication systems.
Strong project management skills as well as being driven to achieve set goals
Good verbal and written communication skills
Able to identify scientific problems and to develop a plan to investigate and potentially solve
Ability to work independently and collaboratively within teams
