VACANCY - REACH COORDINATOR – based in Belgium, Diegem
With fast growing activities in our region, we currently have 1 full-time vacancy at our EMEA (Europe, Middle-East, Africa) headquarters in Belgium, Diegem.
The REACH Coordinator position will ensure both sustainability and operationality of the REACH program in order to maintain EU compliance by Chevron Phillips Chemicals Int., its Affiliates, and indirect supply chains.
You will regularly evaluate existing systems; develop, implement and review REACH action plans and manage timely substance registration and registration updates.
You keep abreast of any REACH related developments and maintains high level of a professional expertise to ensure EU compliance and long-term sustainability and are able to act as a CPChem focal point of contact for REACH matters (both internally and externally).

Your main tasks:
Support REACH Registration Program
Administers CPChem´s existing REACH registrations and ensures that up to-date files according to latest REACH guidance documents.
Assesses registration costs and needs via data gap analysis.
Prepares dossiers in IUCLID and review Chemical Safety Reports.
Participates in Consortia to ensure that CPChem best interests are represented. Foresees participation in technical working groups where dossiers issues are being addressed.
Liaises with laboratories in order to coordinate and monitor testing required.
Manages third party consultants/ experts. Establishes scope for work, identify adequate expert, assesses costs and manages completion of tasks according to agreed deadlines.
Ensures that CPChem IT REACH systems meet Company needs to fulfill and comply with the REACH regulation.
Understands CLP Regulation and collaborates with Product Safety Group for feedback on classification and labelling when needed.
Interacts with Product Safety toxicologists, chemical regulatory chemists with regard to technical dossier aspects.
Interacts with Plant technical personnel for feedback on plant processes required for substance registration or dossier update.
Understands exposure scenarios according to REACH Regulation and examines exposure scenario(s) from supplier´s Safety Data Sheets.
Estimates dossier costs for Letter of Access and align cost sharing calculations yearly according to dossier updates and co-registrants.
Liaises with Legal for Consortium Agreements, Master Service Agreements, laboratory and consultants quotations.
Assist with REACH Program yearly budgeting.
Assist with new UK-REACH registrations.
Manages Substance Volume Tracking Tool and alert Product Lines of potential breach of substance threshold.
Manage REACH Only Representative (OR) Services for CPChem and Affiliates
Explains the advantages and disadvantages to Sales Representatives of providing such services to non-EU customers.
Liaises with EU Lead Counsel and Product Line Management in order to establish OR agreements for non-EU customers.
Provides certificates to customers and renew expired ones after approval of Product Line Managers.
Provides business management with necessary information that could impact established registrations, e.g. aggregation of volumes pushing to next compliance tier, unexpected customer uses.
Interacts with Trustee with regard to certificates and volume reports.
Communicate REACH Information:
Collaborates with Regional/Local REACH Inspectors.
Maintains CPChem´s external website and internal EU Sharepoint updated with REACH products registration and general information.
Oversees REACH communication in ECHA website and REACH-IT.
Administers REACH inbox for internal and external customer REACH queries.
Assist with developing internal REACH communications on issues that affect Product Lines and Affiliates.
Participates at Product Risk Management Team (PRMT) monthly meetings to communicate REACH issues.
We are looking for a candidate with:
A degree Master in Science in Environmental Science or related field
2-5 years’ experience in the industry, documented work in REACH Regulation and participation in industry expert groups is an asset
Qualities: good communicator, analytical, scientific, methodical, detail-oriented, problem solver and team player
Spoken and written fluency in English is essential, knowledge of other European languages is an asset
PC Skills: MS office, IUCLID database knowledge and understanding of QSAR tools for Regulatory Risk Assessment
