The position could be based at the Solenis Wilmington, DE headquarters as well as Warsaw, Poland; Capelle, Netherlands; or Bradford, UK. The Product Toxicologist will be part of a world-class global Product Regulatory and EH&S team contributing to the success of our team across all regions. The position is responsible for providing chemical product safety evaluations through toxicological assessment for internal and external customers including direct correspondence with global regulatory agencies such as FDA, EPA, COFEPRIS, Health Canada, Environment Canada, ECHA, BfR and others.


  • Conduct toxicology review and safety assessments to address customers’ requests and concerns;
  • Conduct hazard and risk assessments including CA Prop 65, REACH, CSRs, etc.;
  • Generate and update toxicology summaries and evaluations of products for global customers and regulatory authorities;
  • Apply (Q)SAR for assessment of toxicity potentials;
  • Provide ongoing GHS classification to align global systems;
  • Calculate Occupational Exposure Limits, DNELs and assign Occupational Exposure Bands;
  • Develop, contract, and manage toxicology tests in support of business programs and regulatory activities;
  • Monitor toxicological studies, review study reports, and ensure GLP compliance as necessary;
  • Communicate with managers and contract laboratories in a timely fashion;
  • Track changes to existing requirements and new regulations that impact ongoing regulatory toxicology activities and programs;
  • Provide expert support to test lab operation, REACH fillings, and any products intended for human uses;
  • Provide toxicology support for industrial products to meet marketing timelines including review of labels, marketing brochures and literature;
  • Update toxicology data in internal product data bases (SAP, SharePoint).


  • Minimum Master degree (PhD preferred) in toxicology, molecular biology, biochemistry or similar, with training in human toxicology discipline;
  • 2-3 years of relevant experience within the chemical or related industry are of advantage;
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills;
  • Ability to work collaboratively with peers;
  • Fast learner with a flexible style and the ability to adjust to changing business priorities;
  • Highly accountable: solution-, results- and action-oriented;
  • Demonstrated ability to manage projects within complex organizations;
  • Excellent verbal / written communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Excellent organizational and prioritization skills;
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks / projects simultaneously;
  • Self-starter with ability to think and act independently and to make sound recommendations and decisions;
  • Knowledge of product regulations, enforcement and industry practice relevant to the chemical industry are an asset;
  • Demonstrated proficiency with GHS and CLP systems;
  • Experience with SAP system is an advantage;
