Exponent's European Chemical Regulation & Food Safety Centre specialises in timely high-quality, creative, and practical solutions to issues that affect our client's ability to conduct business globally. Our experienced team includes both technical and regulatory consultants dealing with general chemicals, pesticides, bio-pesticides, biocides, cosmetics, consumer products, foods, food ingredients, and nutrition.
We are currently recruiting for a Regulatory Scientist (Biocides) in our Edinburgh, UK office. The successful candidate will provide technical and regulatory expertise in Biocides regulatory affairs; manage multi-disciplinary projects for Biocides to support the authorisation of active substances and products on a national, EU and global basis; provide advice to clients and colleagues on biocides regulatory processes and legislation, and contribute to marketing activities for the Biocides Team.
Responsibilities for this position conducting consultancy work in the Biocides sector include:
Assisting in the preparation of technical reports and regulatory dossiers
Using existing knowledge and experience, interpret data from relevant studies, drawing sound scientific and regulatory conclusions
Providing regulatory advice on the requirements for biocidal products in the EU
Participating in project teams to ensure Exponent’s high standards for external communication are met
Contributing to the development of the Biocides team, actively looking for new areas of work and developing existing opportunities
Being aware of budget and deadline constraints on projects
Qualifications and personal attributions for this position include:
BSc degree or above in Biology, Chemistry or another related field
Proven experience of working in a regulatory environment
Strong networking and interpersonal skills
