This is a fantastic opportunity to work for Chemical Watch in lovely offices in Bath or Shrewsbury. Plenty of opportunity for the right candidate to grow this role and progress.

We are looking for a Senior Events Manager to take care of a growing portfolio of business international conferences, awards and leader-level events. There will be travel to Europe, North America, Asia and beyond.

Reporting to and deputising for the Events Directorr, the role involves:

  • Overall management of annual programme of international conferences
  • Advance planning of programme - liaison with editorial, sales, marketing and event managers to ensure all dates are suitable
  • Constant review of annual programme
  • Overseeing the production of programmes by Event Managers ensuring that all conferences are produced on time and in line with schedules
  • Producing approximately one third of the Chemical Watch annual conference programme
  • Setting up event budgets and monitoring budgets on a daily basis
  • Working closely with the Events Director to identify topics for both existing events and new events
  • Invitations and confirmation to speakers
  • Working with marketing team on the production of marketing and sales collateral
  • Liaison with Sales and Marketing on event promotion
  • Selection of venue, negotiation and management of venue contract
  • Booking and briefing on-site staff
  • On-site management of event
  • Working closely with AV/Multi-media team leading up to events
  • Working on new series of Awards programmes
  • Working on Leader Level events for Chemical Watch members customers

About you:

  • Strong programme and project management experience
  • Communication skills to work effectively within our team, and with other teams
  • 5+ years experience in a similar role
  • Keen to travel overseas
  • Bright, driven, personable and able to rise to the challenge!
