Exponent's European Chemical Regulation & Food Safety Centre specialises in timely high-quality, creative, and practical solutions to issues that affect our client's ability to conduct business globally. Our experienced team includes both technical and regulatory consultants dealing with general chemicals, pesticides, bio-pesticides, biocides, cosmetics, consumer products, foods, food ingredients, and nutrition.

We are looking for a Food Safety and Regulatory Affairs Senior Managing Scientist to further develop and lead our established food safety and regulatory affairs team.  Ideally, the post would be in our Harrogate, UK office but we will consider homeworking for an exceptional candidate. 

Responsibilities for this position include:

  • To develop the food business and assist in the growth of a successful team. You would function as a member of a team and also lead projects
  • Producing high quality, successful regulatory submissions relating to food and food additives
  • Provision of high level regulatory strategy and submissions relating to international food regulations
  • Project management and provision of scientific advice to clients and colleagues on European regulatory requirements  
  • Active contribution to the leadership team of Exponent's European business

Qualifications for this position include:

  • A minimum of an MSc. in food science, biochemistry, chemistry, toxicology or a closely related field
  • Extensive experience of working in a regulatory environment  
  • A proven track record relating to successful regulatory submissions, as well as the general regulatory framework applicable to food safety in the European Union

Desirable experience for the post:

  • Business development and strong client communication skills
  • Excellent written and communication skills are essential
