Milliken Chemical is a leading specialty chemical company in the field of plastic additives and specialty colorants, headquartered in the US. It is widely acknowledged as an international leader in research technology, innovation and customer service & is active in a wide range of applications with highly differentiated products. For its regional business centers in Ghent, Milliken is seeking a European Regulatory Manager for its EMEA Chemical Division. You will become member of a highly motivated and dynamic team and provide proactive regulatory support to their continuously growing business in key markets across Russia, Eastern and Western Europe, Middle East and Africa.
European Regulatory Manager
You will report to the Vice President of the region and be responsible for leading the strategic planning and execution of product stewardship and regulatory compliance. You will provide technical expertise and regulatory support to the team and to external customers and their commercial partners. Further responsibilities include:
Initiate and lead registration processes in the EU to ensure compliance with all regulations
Identify and communicate business opportunities and threats arising from current and future legislation and industry regulatory trends in line with business or company-wide objectives
Proactively monitor specific legislation and regulatory trends
Integrate with the business groups to develop intimate knowledge of business strategies, chemistries, products, end use application markets and associated product exposure to identify specific product stewardship issues and needs based on a comprehensive understanding of the businesses
Present Milliken Chemical’s position on business critical regulatory issues through attendance and participation at trade association or other industry group meetings, and through direct interaction with governments and/or other appointed bodies
Collaborate with R&D, Supply Chain and the US teams to ensure all regulatory and Product Stewardship issues are addressed prior to commercialization in the regions
The ideal candidate will combine a forward looking business oriented attitude with a profound subject matter expertise:
You have a bachelor’s/master’s degree in a science related subject, preferably Chemistry
Extensive regulatory experience within the chemical or other similar related industry is required.
You have excellent communication skills with the ability to convey technical / scientific information to a non-technical audience
You are able to build strong relationships both internally and externally to form effective cross-functional teams and networks
Languages: Fluent in English
Travel will be occasionally required within Europe as requested by the sales team
