This is a newly created role in an expanding team that is key in supporting both the R&D functions globally, focussing on all current products including potentially reduced-risk products (PRRPs).

This is an exceptional opportunity for qualified lawyers, likely to have at least five years post qualification experience of providing regulatory product advice, preferably gained within the FMCG, chemical, cosmetics, electronics or food and beverage sectors. Excellent interpersonal skills and commerciality are required, with the ability to translate complex legal and regulatory issues into clear terms and to communicate these effectively, both orally and in writing. This is a unique opportunity to join a leading FMCG company in a dynamic and international team with a business facing role and to be involved in the whole cycle of product development and deployment.

Package: Competitive salary plus pension, a substantial bonus potential and generous benefits, international and internal opportunities

The R&D Product Compliance Legal Counsel will provide advice and support on legal issues and regulatory considerations of product compliance - taking into account ingredients, materials and classification of the product. You will be working closely with the development and product compliance teams and interacting with other key players such as the product safety and regulatory affairs teams. The ideal candidate should have good knowledge of labelling regulations such as CLP and registration, evaluation, authorisation and restriction of chemical substances (REACH); knowledge of electronic regulations would be a plus. You will be required to provide advice and support on legal issues and regulatory considerations pertaining to new PRRP product launches, including existing regulations regarding notification, classification, registration, labelling, threshold and authorized ingredients. You will also monitor and update the business on new and potential regulations relevant to our products. This is a very collaborative role, you will interact with internal stakeholders, suppliers and regulators.
