Could you put safety at the heart of all we do?

At BP, we’re committed to providing the energy that fuels growth and improves lives but in new ways, with fewer emissions. These are big, complex challenges so it’s important that we unlock the full potential of our workforce.

Our Global Product Regulatory and Toxicology team brings together the world’s most highly skilled professionals to support compliance to international chemical control legislation and product HSE risk management. Joining as Manager, you’ll lead these specialists to remain agile in maintaining compliance of our products, managing hazards and provide expert recommendations – including the development of safe, sustainable alternatives.

About the opportunity

Navigating the dynamically changing regulatory and product landscape, you’ll oversee the team that drives the understanding and management of hazards, impacts and risks across BP. From production processes and exposure scenario evaluation to the launch and monitoring of (eco)tox testing programmes, you’ll ensure compliance is prioritised throughout the product life cycle. In short, you’ll be there to put safe and reliable operations at the centre of everything we do.

With your impact reaching many varied departments, you’ll work with a broad range of industry associations and authorities to make sure the correct measures are implemented. Closely monitoring and tracking any changes that take place, you’ll provide the first response to make sure we are still adhering to our standards of compliance. And when necessary, you’ll offer support to Legal in toxic tort and litigation cases as a key expert.

About you

You’ll hold a degree in science (or equivalent), while an advanced qualification would be a real advantage. You’ll also have substantial experience in managing a product regulatory and toxicology within a global team. You’ll have good spoken English, strong interpersonal and confident communication skills, and a proven track record of successfully managing professionals. And you’ll be a skilled networker, able to engage and work effectively with diverse business leadership across the unique departmental and geographical barriers at BP.
